As I had expected, someone is missing his human... As I had expected, someone is missing his human... and decided to curl up on my legs instead. And exactly when I expected too. His human (aka my hubby) returns home in 2 days. #petstagram #catlife #catstagram
Well... Hubby and daughter (19yo) have driven away Well... Hubby and daughter (19yo) have driven away, heading south. They are off on an adventure to go tramping on Stewart Island. (That's overnight hiking to you folks in the US) And they don't come home until very late Friday night. So... For a whole week, it's just me and the cat. And for the first time in a long time, I don't have to think about anyone else when it comes to meal planning, scheduling, or toileting. I can go where I want, when I want, and I don't have to wait for others who might be in my way. And I can eat what I want to eat, and I don't have to share any of my goodies. So, to celebrate this rare freedom, this morning, I made I giant pot of chai (enough to get through a few days, so I can start the day, every day, with a homemade cup of chai). And I just had my first mug of it. Ahh... That's nice. And it's ALL MINE! Now to go and get another mug full of chai and get to #writing! #writingCommunity #WritersLife #AmWriting #WritersCommunity

So... Next week, I start #poledancing lessons (bec So... Next week, I start #poledancing lessons (because... why not? Who cares that I'm 48 and never done this before?). Based on my daughter's recommendation, I bought myself a set of knee pads (a very specific set designed for pole dancers). Well, the package arrived this morning... And I cracked up... laughing a belly laugh. Just look at the added notes and packing materials! @polegearnz You are totally awesome! And yes, the package caused "extreme happiness."

One in one thousand. That was the risk associated One in one thousand. That was the risk associated with a known side effect of the drug she was given after her heart attack. It was meant to thin the blood to make it easier for her heart to function while she was airlifted to Christchurch Hospital for emergency surgery. But one in one thousand people would develop a brain bleed as a result of the drug. Trust my mother to be the statistic, because that's exactly what she was: one in one thousand. So full of life... and full of determination. Nothing could stand in her way. She was a force of nature. "Turn can't into Watch Me!" She said it every day... and she lived by it. A few weeks ago, one of my monitors blew up (smoke A few weeks ago, one of my monitors blew up (smoke and crackles and everything that went with it... including panic from me... no fire extinguisher needed, thankfully). Well, my hubby decided to be helpful and got me a new monitor (he chose it... it just showed up in the house)... and OMG, this thing is HUGE. In the photo, my original primary monitor is on the right (24-inch with standard 16:9 aspect ratio). The new monitor... It's 34-inch extra wide... and I'm struggling a little to know where to look. It turns out that it's perfect for working in Scrivener... if I ensure that I'm writing (and sitting) such that I'm looking at the left-hand half of the screen, but so much space I don't know what to do with. #writersLife #FirstWorldProblems #HomeOffice
